Legend has it that Russian Shepherds from a traveling circus also contributed to the breeding of Golden Retrievers. Besides the Mazhebank, others were breeding golden hunting dogs at the time, so this strange crossbreeding method may have originated in other dog breeding facilities.
Most cyniologists believe this is just a fictional story people are willing to believe. Apart from acquired training, the genes of a shepherd dog are completely different from that of a single hunting dog, and any knowledgeable breeder would unlikely believe such a claim. The Golden Retriever first appeared under the name Russian Hound or Stalker, fueling this legend and thus the story has been passed down.
In any case, modern Golden Retrievers are highly mobile, and more and more are being trained as guide dogs, making them great companions for the visually impaired. In the United States, Golden Retrievers shine in obedience competitions and runways thanks to their accuracy, flexibility, agility, quick reactions, and likability.
Golden Retrievers require plenty of exercise to prevent being overweight. Their beautiful coats don’t need frequent grooming, and their colors range from milky yellow to golden yellow, as if catching dazzling sunlight. We can see their tails swaying from time to time, and their expressions clearly reflect enthusiasm and trust.
