Can cassava litter be flushed down the toilet?
No, cassava litter can’t be flushed down the toilet!
Because cassava litter has strong binding and clumping strength, its water solubility is lower. If you flush the clumps down the toilet they may not fully dissolve, which can then cause blockages. We recommend throwing the cassava litter clumps into general rubbish!
Can Meowow Fast-Clumping Cassava Litter be used in automatic litter boxes?
Basically, yes!
The automatic litter machines on the market are mainly suited to “clumping, small-pellet” litter. Cassava litter has small pellets, close to mineral litter and clay, and counts as a small-pellet litter, so it can be used in automatic litter machines.

It depends on your actual usage!
Even though environmental probiotics turn odours into no odour, a set amount of probiotics can only break down so much odour.
So we recommend that pet parents top up the litter and occasionally replace the whole tray of litter during use, to keep the litter’s deodorising effect going.
How can I help my cat switch litter?
When switching from old litter to new, we recommend taking it slow and replacing it with new litter gradually, in proportion. Try to avoid changing your pet’s original litter and the litter tray’s placement at the same time, so you can help your pet adjust more easily for a painless litter switch!
