The lid of the Japan IRIS SSN-530 house-shaped litter box opens halfway, so at cleaning time one lift is enough to see the poop and urine clumps clearly, without having to remove the entire lid the way you do with ordinary litter houses.
The slightly tilted design of the pan is there to make scooping poop and urine clumps easier, just a light rake with the included scoop sweeps everything into the litter box that doubles as a drop-off tray.
After use, hang the scoop flat under the lid of the house, taking up no space at all and staying clean.
Once your cat has finished with the litter, there is a simple drop-off step inside the house, so standing on it first clears the litter stuck on their paws. The lid even comes with an activated carbon odour control pack!
For cats who are not used to a litter house at first, you can remove the swing door panel and fit it back on once they have settled in.
